
Interactive session with Japanese Consulate in Karachi
Diplomatic Forum organized an interactive session to promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and Japan with H.E. TOSHIKAZU ISOMURA, Consul General, Consulate General of the Japan in Karachi on 11th March, 2019 at DHA Sunset Club, Karachi in collaboration with Special Economic Zone Management Company, Investment Department, Government of Sindh. Mr. Abdul Azeem Uqaili, Chief Executive, SEZMC also consented to be the Guest of Honor for this ceremony. He promoted the SEZMC and other related projects of Investment Department, Government of Sindh. During his speech he said,
“Sindh is fully determined to adopt policies that create an enabling environment for the investors in the province. It will provide jobs, currently a challenge for our populous country; it generates revenue for the government and it triggers a virtuous cycle of skilled population and financial inclusion. We aimed to facilitate the domestic producers as well as foreign investors. The benefits of domestic businesses are obvious. The foreign businesses not only provide jobs, but also bring new technology with them.”
Various eminent personalities took active part in the session including Mr. Muhammad Asif Haroon, Founder President, Diplomatic Forum for Socio Eeconomic Foundation, Commercial Consul of the Republic of the Gambia (Hon), Mr. Kaleem Farooqui, Vice Chairman, Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF), Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Kasumbi, Former Senior Vice President & Advisor Federal Taxation Sub-Committee, Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mr. Muhammad Rehan Hashmi, Chairman, DMC Centeral Karachi, MR. Sharjil Kharal, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Zone, Karachi, Syed Tahir Hussain, Consul General, Consulate General of Republic of the Gambia (Hon).
The program started with the welcome speech of Mr. Muhammad Hanif Khan, Senior Vice President, Diplomatic Forum & Chief Executive, Perfect Express International Courier Mr. Muhammad Hanif Khan, Senior Vice President, Diplomatic Forum & Chief Executive, Perfect Express International Courier where he communicated the objective of Diplomatic Forum for Socio Economic Foundation and also about the projects that the Forum has initiated for the National interest.
This interactive session was hosted by Mr. Mubeen A. Durrani, Founder Member & Head of Marketing & External Affairs, Skills Valley.
This interactive session facilitated local business community to interact with foreign diplomats and investors to explore and prospect business possibilities and favorable trade for the betterment of economy. During the session, participants discussed and shared their views about trade and how to boost import and export for the well-being of the both countries.
Many important topics like Investment opportunities on Pakistan and Japan, Statistics about the Trade, Bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.
H.E. TOSHIKAZU ISOMURA, Consul General, Consulate General of the Japan in Karachi grabbed the audience attention by delivering his speech in the National Language of Pakistan, Urdu. He further appreciated Diplomatic Forum for organizing such an interactive and informative session.
In his speech, he said “Pakistan & Japan has strong bilateral relations since very long. In 1952 Japanese first came to Pakistan for bilateral trade and since then our trade has been increasing every year. We have worked in various companies mainly in the automobile industry in Pakistan. In 2017, Japan’s trade to Pakistan were 292 Million USD on the other hand Pakistan’s trade to Japan were 220 Million USD and these numbers are increasing day by day. With all this there is still a lot of gap that we both need to fill. Fish industry and Automobile industry are the main industries where Pakistan and Japan can work together.”
He further invited all the members of Diplomatic Forum to visit Japan and enhance trade between these countries.
Mr. Muhammad Asif Haroon, Founder President, Diplomatic Forum for Socio Economic Foundation concluded the session by thanking all the distinguished guests and said,
